I will write more about my bad experiences rather than the good ones, however do not feel discouraged, maybe this hotel is a perfect place just for you.
Firstly what annoyed me the most were the omnipresent cats, mostly sick ones, with ragged, bleeding, mattery ears and eyes, fed by old German
women, that is technically forbidden but generally accepted by everyone. Not a single staff member ever enforced that rule. The cats enter even the à la carte restaurant where you pay for the dinner extra to spend a nice evening with you loved one, you get a butler etc. They were too lazy to even catch the cockroaches, that were present mostly close to the canteen (!). The food itself is another topic. You see all the fresh juices, meat, sea food, vegetables, cakes and you think it’s all fresh and nice, well – it is not, I can assure you. Imagine what happens behind the scenes when a hotel has to feed some 1000 people 3 times a day. All the fat, ready-made dishes simply heated up by the ‘cooks’ rude as hell, not speaking a word in English. On a third day I stopped eating everything that could have been pre-cooked and delivered to the hotel and would just eat raw things, they couldn’t cheat or heat up many times – that helped. We met 3 Italian couples, all with stomach issues and indigestion after this food.
Another thing is the personnel competence – generally it was good. “Hola” fifty times a day is really nice, I did have a quite unpleasant situation though. I also have to tell you that I myself am in a hotel business and would never allow a situation like this in my place back there where I come from. Namely – I ordered a place in a à la carte restaurant that even if an AI customer you have to pay for. The reservation was made for 7 pm sharp. I am never late, I came there 6.53 pm then. I was asked by an mid-aged extra-impolite manager to leave the restaurant (!!!) though the tables were set and we could have easily sat. I told the man it was okay and went out to wait these 7 minutes outside after which we entered the restaurant and ate regular food for the first time in days. For me totally unacceptable. In the regular canteen there was a woman walking around several times during our stay besetting to order a paid photograph !!! Could you imagine eating a dinner with your wife, drinking wine and all of a sudden someone interrupts you and wants to sell you a picture of yourself ??? Am I in Egypt for Christ sake !? Last thing is what I experienced only in Spain is a paid safe and a really dirty room.
To sum up, the hotel in nothing more than two stars. Me and my wife are still wondering what organization grants stars to the hotels in Spain. Bad experience unfortunately.
